Already for the fifth time, A. Lange & Söhne accompanies the pioneering of automobile art on Lake Como. The prestigious competition for classic cars and pioneering concept studies will be held this year under the motto "Back to the future - the journey continues". The winner in the category "Best of Show" receives a unique Lange 1 time zone "Como Edition".

From the 20th to the 22nd of May, the elite of the classic automotive industry will gather at Lake Como. Historic vehicles of outstanding class and fascinating history compete in eight categories for the favor of the jury and audience. Since 2012, A. Lange & Söhne has been the sponsor of the classic event, one of the most traditional and most important in the world. In the spacious park of Villa d'Este each car tells its own exciting story. One of them is the Pegaso Cupula of 1952, which last year received the prize for the most exciting design. The equally extravagant and rare coupés of the Spanish brand Pegaso still impress with their daring mixture of color, form and technology.

In this year's "Daring to be different - designs that pushed the envelope" category, examples of particularly bold, often controversial and pioneering innovations from the areas of design and technology will be presented. If the long 1 time zone "Como Edition" created for the competition was a car, it would be one of the favorites in this category. The distinctive, decentralized dial design of the Lange 1 caused a sensation in 1994 and made the brand new, A. Lange & Söhne famous overnight. The innovative display of home and time zones is the expression of the mechanical championship, with which the watch manufacturers and collectors are always enthusiastic. The hand-engraved caseback of the white-gold special edition shows the coat of arms of the competition. At the Städtering, Como stands for the Central European era. Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid will personally hand over the unique timepiece to the winner of the "Best of Show" category at the Siegerehrung on 22 May.

The Lange 1 time zone "Como Edition" is one of the most exclusive timepieces of A. Lange & Söhne. Because it is only once a year - for the "Best of Show" winner of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
Since 2012, A. Lange & Söhne has been supporting the Concorso d 'Eleganza Villa d'Este, which is being held annually in May on Lake Como. For the exclusive event, which focuses on the beauty and elegance of the classic automobile, A. Lange & Söhne has created a unique timepiece: an exclusive model of the Lange 1 time zone with the special addition "Como Edition". This watch can not be bought, it is only the winner in the category "Best of Show" reserved.
The Lange 1 time zone is the perfect companion for cosmopolitans with its practical home and zonzeiteit display. The best possible readability was the focus of their development. On the clearly designed dial, the home time and the time of a second time zone can be recorded at a glance. The second time zone is set via a rotatable city ring with 24 time zones, which can be conveniently switched by means of a push-button. The elaborately hand-finished and double-mounted manufactory calibers have a three-day reserve.

Compared to the classic variant, the Como edition features two special features: the central European time on the rotatable urban design is not represented in Berlin, but rather by Como - a reverence to the venue of the competition. In addition, the watch is designed as a "cuvette". This means that the Lange 1 time zone is equipped with a hand-engraved folding base made of white gold.
